Ramona Justice Obituary

Justice, Ramona Kay Beattie

September 18, 1941 - January 6, 2024

Kernersville - Mrs. Ramona Kay Beattie Justice, 82, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born on September 18, 1941 in Lincoln County to Raymond Edward and Edna Caldwell Beattie. She was a graduate of North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and earned her BSN from Winston-Salem State University. Kay retired from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after more than 39 years of service. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Kernersville, where she served on multiple committees and was elected as a Deacon of the church for multiple years. She was a loyal fan of Wake Forest and NC State and an avid reader, but her greatest loves were her family and her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Fred Wilson Justice; two sisters, Nancy Beattie Harwell and Phyllis Beattie Hewitt; and beloved pet "Raleigh". She is survived by her son David Wilson Justice (Jenny) of Cary; her daughter, Lisa Kay Justice Holder (Troy) of Pittsboro; four grandchildren, Kara Emily Justice, Kristen Taylor Justice, Kasey Christopher Holder and Kody Austin Holder; her brother-in-law, Richard Justice (Glenda); her godson Benjamin Owen Hopkins; five nephews; four nieces; and many, many special friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Kernersville with Rev. Anita Laffoon officiating. A private entombment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. The family will receive friends starting at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 401 Oakhurst St., Kernersville, NC 27284; Crisis Control Ministry, 431 W. Bodenhamer St., Kernersville, NC 27284 or to a favorite charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
