Robert Fearrington Obituary

FEARRINGTON LEWISVILLE - Robert Wayne "RW" Fearrington, 56, of Lewisville passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born on May 11, 1952 in Forsyth County to the late Robert Baxter and Loraine Spainhour Fearington. He was married in June 1975 to the late Jeanie Arter Fearrington who passed away in 1987. Wayne served his country that he loved so dear in the U.S Air Force. He returned to Winston-Salem in 1985 where he was manager of Sherwood Barbecue. He spent countless hours working in the restaurant and catering business serving his many customers. After leaving the restaurant business, he worked as a security guard at the Nissen Building and BP Gas Station on Robinhood Rd. as long as his health permitted. He is survived by his brother, Gary (Kathy) Fearrington of Lewisville; sisters, Gail Myers of East Bend, and Diane Davis of Linwood. He also leaves behind his nieces whom he was so proud of and dearly loved and cherished, Stacy Fearrington of Richmond, VA, Lori (Jeremy) Black of East Bend, Angie Fearrington (fiance' Isaac) of Lewsiville, Jamie (Teman) Willard, Crystal Robins and Michelle Davis. Wayne is also survived by his mother-in-law, Bonnie Langford of Mt. Home, Idaho. Other survivors are special friends, Ted and Maria Baron, Mamaw and special niece, Heidi Steffan. A graveside service with military rites will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem with the Rev. Judson J. Milam officiating. Military rites will be provided by District 11 VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends directly following the service and at other times at the home of Gary and Kathy Fearrington in Lewisville. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services Inc., 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to thank Dr. Savage and the countless doctors and nurses at WFUBMC that worked with RW throughout his short illness. Again I would like to thank you and your family for having Judy and I over and asking me to Pall bear. I will miss RW very much. He was very special to Judy and I. Judy will always remember him calling her dear.
One last thing one of my customers came in to tell me what RW did for him at the BBQ place. He asked RW if he knew how to make redeye gravy RW said yes. After that everytime he walked in the door RW made redeye gravy for him. That was what he was all about. Taking care of others.
