WILMINGTON - Robert Ray Gregory Jr., 65, of Wilmington, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation and Health Care Centre. "Rawhide" was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Kernersville, son of the late Robert Ray Gregory Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Tesh Gregory. Mr. Gregory was a lifetime trucker who loved hunting, fishing, friends and cooking. His wife, Glenna Gregory; and daughter Gena Gregory preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, Bobby Gregory, of Wilmington; daughter Sherry Williams of Garden City, S.C.; granddaughter Daryl Williams; grandson Evan Casey; brother Terry Gregory and wife, Marty, of Wilmington; niece Caitlin Gregory; and nephew Grant Gregory. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Covenant Moravian Church, with the Rev. Jon Peterson officiating. The family will greet friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rawhide's memory to American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834. We were so sorry to read about Bobby in the paper. Your family was like our family for so many years. I was just thinking the other day about all the fun we used to have on the hill. I know that you will miss him. You and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
