Robert Hudgins Obituary
July 18, 1952 - December 10, 2024
Robert Eugene Hudgins, of Lewisville, NC, lovingly known as "Bob," passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on July 18, 1952, he was the oldest child of George Harry and Mabel Smith Hudgins.
Bob graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1970 and went on to earn a degree in mathematics from East Carolina University in 1974 and then married Jane Craft, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 29 this past summer. He made a career as a systems analyst for McLean Trucking Company, Salem Carpets, and retired from Wrangler/Vanity Fair.
Bob is remembered with love by his wife, Jane; his sister, Ann Chastain (Tom) of Mackinaw City, MI; his children, Katherine Dohl (Keith) of Chester, VA, David Hudgins of Lewisville, and Stephen Hudgins of Lewisville. He was a proud grandfather to Kaitlyn and Kourey Dohl. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lewisville location of Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes. The funeral service will be the next day on Monday, December 16, at 11 a.m. at Lewisville Baptist Church with a luncheon following in the Fellowship Hall.
Bob's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his life and legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
