Rome Oliver Hall

HALL KING - Mr. Rome Oliver Hall, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Stokes County to Grover S. and Beatrice Moser Hall. Rome was a farmer and also was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., retiring after 23 years. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Leonard and Clyde Hall. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ersie Watts Hall of the home; a daughter, Brenda Oneal, and husband Tom of Hendersonville; a granddaughter, Amy Waters Collins, and husband Dean of King; two great-grandsons, Ryan George and Andrew Collins; two sisters, Mildred Neal of Winston-Salem and Jane Sizemore of King; five brothers, Delbert, Fred, Frank, Harry Lee and Wayne Hall, all of King; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rome was a member of First Baptist Church in King, where funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, with Dr. John Wren officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
