Mr. Roy Lee Bowman, 62, of 2906 Emerson St., died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at his home. He was born July 3, 1940, in Forsyth County to Charles Poindexter and Blanche Wilson Bowman. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was a member of the Winston-Salem Elks Lodge. Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife, Sandra Myers Bowman of the home; two daughters, Angela L. Bowman and husband, William Lunsford, of High Point and Jodie Bowman Long and husband, Tim, of Yadkinville; two stepgrandsons, Jeremy and Christopher Long; and two brothers, Robert Gray Bowman and Jack Eugene Bowman, both of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 1100-C S. Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Samaritan Baptist Church, 4800 Reid Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.

While I never I had the pleasure of meeting Roy, I have had the pleasure of knowing his daughter, Angie. I have worked with Angie at Banner Pharmacaps for several years and consider her friend as well as coworker.
My deepest sympathy and condolences to Angie, Bill and your entire family. May God bring you peace and comfort at this very difficult time.
