Roy Wilhelm Obituary

Mr. Roy Everett Wilhelm 66, died July 14, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County to Everett and Eva Wilkins Wilhelm. Mr. Wilhelm graduated from Boonville High School and was a member of Pfafftown Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. National Guard for six years and was retired from Roadway Trucking Co. with 33 years of service. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, devoted father and a wonderful Papa. His last five and a half years were spent caring part time for his twin grandsons and gardening. He made a difference in all our children's lives and we love him dearly for all his love and support. He will be dearly missed. Mr. Wilhelm was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Fred Wilhelm. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Toleda Dowell Wilhelm, of the home; a daughter, Ginger Wilhelm Marshall, and husband, Brian, of East Bend; a son, Greg Wilhelm, and wife, Julia, of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Mitch Wilhelm, Daniel Wilhelm, Corey Wilhelm, Samuel Marshall and Nicholas Marshall; a stepgranddaughter, Heather Putzel; a brother, Dale Wilhelm, and wife, Kathy, of Yadkinville; three sisters, Patsy Billiott of Boonville, Frances King and husband, Jack, of Hamptonville and Margie Vannoy and husband, Willie, of North Wilkesboro; a sister-in-law, Mildred Wilhelm, of Boonville; and several nieces and nephews. A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held today, July 17, at Pfafftown Baptist Church with Dr. Craig Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Pfafftown Baptist Church Building Fund, 4336 Transou Road, Pfafftown, NC 27040.
