Ruby Richard Jaynes

JAYNES WINSTON-SALEM - Ruby Richard Jaynes, 88, formerly of Plata Drive, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Virginia. A native of Cherokee, North Carolina, she was predeceased by her husband, Sherman Baxter Jaynes and a son, Dennis R. Jaynes. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Women of the Moose. Survivors include a daughter, Anita Jaynes Pond of Suffolk, VA; a son, Baxter Jaynes of Morganton, NC; four sisters, Betty Sain of Henry County, NC, and Essie Jane Webb, Edith Wilson and MaryLou Crafton, all of Hickory, NC; three grandchildren, Teri Volpe, Chuck Pond and Paul Pond; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Parkway, on Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Park Lawn Memorial Park.
