Ruth Searcy Obituary

WALNUT COVE - Mrs. Ruth R. Searcy, 82, of 1048 Whicker Road died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was a native of Stokes County and a member of Baileytown Christian Church. She is survived by four sons, Paul Ray Moore of Ann Arbor, Mich., James Searcy of Winston-Salem, Willie Searcy of Richmond, Va., and John Searcy of Walnut Cove; seven daughters, Helen Glenn of Walkertown, Clara Pilson of Martinsville, Va., Edith Searcy of King, Sylvia Yourse of Mebane, Maxine Hairston and Phyllis Moore of Belews Creek and Mary Searcy of Spring Lake; a brother, Matthew Moore of Winston-Salem; 31 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, in the Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel of Perry-Spencer Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will be in Baileytown Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. (Perry-Spencer)

THOMASVILLE - Mrs. Geneva Harrison Shaver, 73, of Thomasville died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Holly Hill Memorial Park. J.C. Green & Sons is in charge of arrangements.
