Shirley Angell Obituary
July 22, 1943 - April 21, 2024
East Bend – Shirley Jean Warden Angell, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 21, 2024. She was born July 22, 1943, in Yadkin County to the late Rev. Guy Warden and Elsie Williams Warden. Shirley had a big heart for others and was loved by many for her annual phone calls and visits on birthdays and anniversaries. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Warden and Wade Warden. She is survived by her husband, Teddy "Ted" Angell; children, Spencer (Teresa) Angell, Scott (Terri) Angell, Susan (Jonathan) Pettit; grandchildren, Harrison (Kaliyah Magras) Angell, Katherine Angell, Austin Jones, Lucas Pettit; great-grandchild, Ezekiel Angell; brothers, Lawrence Warden, Jimmy (Vickie) Warden; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Watts officiating. Burial will follow at East Bend Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the Cardiac ICU nurses: Morganne Priest, Andruw Cain, Mike Bills and also Dr. David Duncan at Forsyth Medical Center for all the love and care shown to Shirley.
Memorials can be made to Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 4332 Mt. Bethel Church Road, East Bend, NC 27018. Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend is serving the Angell family.
