LOWRY KERNERSVILLE - Stanley Neal Lowry, 57, went home to be with His Lord, on September 29, 2008. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family at the time of his home going. A Celebration and Praise Service will be conducted honoring his life, at The Summit Church, 4440 High Point Road, Kernersville, at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 2, 2008, with Pastor Jonathan Robbins officiating. He was born June 14, 1951 in Fulton County, Georgia. Stan was the son of Dorothy Clair Crawford and the late Jack Eugene Lowry. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech University. He was employed in research and development for Krispy Kreme for 35 years. He was an inventor and holds many patents for Krispy Kreme. He, and his family, were Charter members of The Summit Church and were part of the first service held in the church on Easter Sunday 2000. Survivors include his wife Deborah "Debbe" R. Lowry of the home; daughters Leigh Ann Taylor and her husband Greg of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Lori Elizabeth Lowry of Clemmons, and Ashley Taylor Lowry of the home; his mother Dorothy C. Lowry of Kernersville. The family will receive friends at the church following the service on Thursday. I am so late in writing, but I just learned that Stan died. I did not know Stan well and at all. I met him while visiting my father at Forsyth Medical Center. There was a light in Stan that shown so brightly and he had the love of Christ that was so obvious. I am so deeply sorry for Stan`s family and I know that Stan is with Jesus Christ! You are very special, Stan!

I have only met a few people in this life with the character, love, compassion and sense of humor that Stan had. He was a very dedicated husband to Debbe, father to Ashley, son to his Mom-Dot, and always a friend to all he met. Heaven is rejoicing with his arrival and Jesus is saying "well done my good and faithful servant". Debbe, Ashley and Dot, my prayers are with you always.

Three years I started attending The Summit because my daughter and son-in-law invited me. The reason I kept coming back was because of Stan and his encouraging words and gracious smile every Sunday. He always asked about my daughter, Kelly, and when Tyler, her son, was born he was thrilled. The last time I spoke to Stan he was with Tyler at the back of the church. In those 3 years, I have volunteered, joined a Journey Group and joined the church last month. I will never forget the wonderful Man that he was.

Debbe and family, may you find peace in God and His power during this difficult time. Stan was more than just a co-worker here at Krispy Kreme. He greeted everyone with a big smile and hello everyday and he will be sorely missed. Stan made a big impression on me when I first came to Krispy Kreme. His friendliness and professionalism made me feel welcome, and I will never forget his kindness. I just know he is now greeting everyone in heaven with that big smile. Heaven is a better place today because of Stan's presence. Peace be with you.

Although we did not know Stan well, we met him at The Summit on several occasions, where he shared his memories of my mother, with whom he had worked at Krispy Kreme prior to her passing in 1994. We appreciate his kindness and his friendship with our son Chris and his family.

Debbe, I am so sorry for your loss. Stan was a great guy. I am going to miss him on the softball field saying "bend at the knees, not at the waist" when a ball would go through someone's legs. Love you.

Dear Debbie and Family,
We all loved Stan here at Krispy Kreme. He was always smiling and always on the go. Years ago, he would get us to do the sensory testing on the doughnuts and fillings at Ivy Avenue. You couldn't turn him down, not with that big smile of his.
May God Bless you in your time of sorrow.

I haven't known Stan that long, almost a year now, but in that time I learned that he was a wonderful person. He gave me and my daughter a chance to start a new life and even invited us to church. He will definitely be missed by anyone who knew him. My heart goes out to the Lowry family and you are all in my prayers.

My sisters, brother and I have known Stan most of our lives. He and my dad were friends threw Krispy Kreme, and had babysat us several times. He use to joke that if we acted up while he was watching us that he'd tape us up and lock us in the closet. He will be greatly missed from us and especially my mom & dad (David & Kathie Underwood). Our prayers go out to the family. God Bless.

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you. I was telling my kids how Stan used to babysit me and my brother and sisters when we were little. We always got to go to the Holiday Inn and go swimming. If we were bad he would tell us he was going to lock us in the closet. You will be missed...

To Stan's family, I only had the pleasure of working with Stan for short time here at KKDC, I learned so much from him and enjoyed the times we shared experimenting on new products. We have lost a good man and an advocate for the bow-tie. Blessings to his family know we will miss him greatly.

Stan will be missed by so many. He was my first experience at the Summit church, and I looked forward to seeing him every Sunday. He was genuinely concerned with other people, and a completely selfless human being. I know he is in heaven and Im sure God has already given him the job of greeting everyone that comes in.

To the Lowery Family,

I worked with Stan during the '80's and '90's at Krispy Kreme. Stan was fine man, always courteous, professional and willing to share his knowledge and skills for the betterment of Krispy Kreme.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Stan was the light of The Summit. He always made you feel welcomed. It was always important to him to learn each and every name and shake each and every hand that he could. I can just see his smiling face and feel his hug right now. My, what he's first morning with Jesus watching the sun coming up must have been. Stan wants good memories and good thoughts to follow him now. He will always be with me in my heart as I know he will with many more. We miss you Stan.
