Mrs. Sue Young Goodson of 2381 Okalina Ave. passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at her residence. She was a native of Darlington, S.C., and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac "Ike" Goodson; two sisters, Thelma Y. Dixon and Mamie Anthrum; a daughter, Cassandra S. Goodson; a son, Charles I. Goodson; a granddaughter, Sonya R. Bush; and a great-granddaughter, Miltoneisha M. Lewis. Mrs. Sue leaves to mourn her passing her children, Ms. Stephanie B. Goodson of the home, Gwendolyn (John) Barkley, Mr. Julius L. Goodson, Roulpherd Goodson Sr. and Norman (Ruby) Goodson, all of Winston-Salem; her brothers, Walter (Georgia Mae) Young of Society Hill, S.C., and David Young of Philadelphia, Pa.; devoted nieces, Grace Davis and Ruby (Jason) Smith; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; very special friends, Blanche V. Greene, Mattie Clark, Josie McCray, Thelma Southern and Bill Porter; and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Friendship Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Lawrence Cavana. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, from 1:30 to 2 p.m., at the church. The remains may be viewed from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Sept. 14, at Douthit Visitation Center. The family may be contacted at the residence. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Directors.
