BOONVILLE - Mr. Thomas Carl Vestal, Jr., 74, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 25, 1947 in Yadkin County to the late Thomas Carl Vestal, Sr., and Ellie Nance Vestal. Mr. Vestal was retired with over 35 years of service with Westinghouse, Inc. He was a lifelong member of Charity Baptist Church, where he served the church faithfully as Sunday School Superintendent, Secretary, Teacher, Deacon, and Choir Director. He loved to sing and enjoyed his time spent with the Charity Choir. Mr. Vestal was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a surveyor with the 101st Airborne, during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Frances Brown, and by his brother, Fred A. Vestal. Surviving is his beloved wife of 51 years, Martha B. Vestal, of the home; his daughter, Amanda (Greg) Brewer; son, Andrew (Candiss) Vestal; 5 loved grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margie Priddy, Becky Speas; a brother, Lowell Vestal; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vestal will be available for public viewing from 12-6 PM Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His graveside service will be 3:30 PM Saturday at Charity Baptist Church by Rev. Marty Nixon and Rev. Eddy Driver. Full Military Honors will be provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the NC National Guard.
