To Family and friends: Thurma Kay was my very first friend in Winston-Salem when my family moved here in l959. We lived close to each other and used to meet each other "half-Way" between our houses and then spend the day together at one or the other's home on weekends or during the summer vacation. Linda, I know your remember. I loved her mother and daddy so much !!! They were so cute and funny. Also Thurma took me to her church -- I think it is Trinity Methodist on Country Club Road and introduced me to a whole group of new friends when I moved to W-S. I was 11 years old. I also became a nurse and Thurma and I would talk from time to time. I did not know, however that she was sick and I am totally stunned to hear of her death. The world will be a different place whithout her presence. Thurma Kay --- I loved you and I hope you know how sad I am to learn you have left us. My condolences to Christie and Jeff and their families and to Linda Sue.

To family and friends,
Thurma and I went to Presbyterian Hosp. Sch. of Nursing together. She was a friend and such a nice person. I had no idea she was ill, as we have lost touch over the years. I am so sad for you as you go through your grief. Thurma was a wonderful nurse with a great deal of love and caring for her patients. I will let some of our nurse friends know of her passing. Please know that I am praying for you all. Much love, Daphne Aldridge Carter
