Vanessa Gail Lewis passed on Saturday morning, Dec. 13, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after a period of illness. She was a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, where she attended the public schools and was a former employee of KinderCare. Ms. Lewis was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter, Tonia Lewis of the city; two sons, James Tyrone Lewis of the city and Thaddeus J. Lewis of Richmond, Va.; four grand-children, Tantanea Kamala Lewis, Tywuane Jerome Lewis, Creyon Alisha Lewis and Creative Amerre Lewis; three sisters, Jeane L. Allison, Sharon L. Lewis and Annette Y. Allison; a brother, James T. (Carolyn) Allison III, all of Winston-Salem; and other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the 4C ICU staff of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The family may be contacted at the home of a sister, Jeane Allison, 4154 Edgeware Road. (Hooper)
