Viola Rowe Obituary

ROWE Viola C. Rowe, age 82, passed away suddenly at the Inn at Lakeview where she and her husband, Francis "Dock" Rowe, have resided for the past 5 years. Prior to that they made their home in Grove City. In addition to her devoted husband of 60 years, Vi leaves behind one son, Steve (Terese) Rowe; along with granddaughters, Celeste and Liana who reside in Auckland, New Zealand; and daughter, Roberta (Rob) Engelhart; and grandsons, Matthew and Corey of Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her daughter Laurie Rowe-Ohler. Before her retirement, Viola worked as an eighth grade Language Arts Teacher in Grove City and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. In summers Vi loved gardening and hanging out with her "pool crowd" at the Twin Towers Pool. Vi and Dock have been long time members of the Grove City United Methodist Church and she leaves behind many friends. According to her wishes to be cremated, there will be no graveside service. Her life will be celebrated at a memorial service at Grove City United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2005, with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. and following the service. Memorial donations can be sent to the Grove City United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2684 Columbus Street, Grove City. Arrangements completed with the SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus Street, Grove City.
