Violet Temple Moore Owens, age 85, of Pfafftown, N.C. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. She was born to the late John Robert Moore and Mary Magdalene Spencer Moore. She graduated from Bassett High School and Radford College in Virginia.

Violet taught Elementary Education for 31 years. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Violet was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she enjoyed participating in the Senior Adult Choir. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Pat Hall of Stuart, Va., a brother Chester Moore of Collinsville, Va., a sister Esther Clement, of Baltimore, Md.; a brother Eldean Moore (Mignon) of Mooresville , N.C., and a sister, Donna Cooper of Tallahassee, Fla. Surviving are a son, Kent Owens (Paige), of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and two daughters, Dr. Susan Owens (Jon) of Charlotte, N.C., and Dr. Gina Owens (Kellye) of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Evie Bykowsky, Virginia Owens, Alex Jarrell, Matthew Jarrell, and Luke Jarrell; two sisters, Mary June Martin of Rocky Mount, VA, and Joy Ruoss (Joe) of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Dr. Frank Moore (Linda) of King George, Va., and Mike Moore (Judy) of Germantown, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Salem Funeral Home at 2951 Reynolda Road. with the burial to follow at Forsyth Memorial Park at 3771 Yadkinville Road. at 3 p.m. A funeral will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11 a.m., visitation starting at 10 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church, 134 S. Peacehaven Road.
