Virginia Reed Obituary

REED BETHANIA - Mrs. Virginia Sodczak Reed, 78, of Bethania passed away, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Reed was born on May 30, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of the late Joseph and Lottie Sobczak. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Hubert. Mrs. Reed was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband of 57 years, Leo Reed of the home; a daughter, Joy Anne Walls and husband Darle of Belews Creek; three sons, Leo James Reed of Belews Creek, Lenard Reed and wife Brenda of Green Castle, Ind., and Daniel Edward Reed and wife Carolyn of Hanahan, S.C.; five grandchildren, Christopher Todd Walls, Virginia Augusta Walls, Amanda Dawn Dorsett, Justin Joseph Reed and Sara Jane Reed, six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Sternik of Chandler, Ariz., and Sylvia Rodel of Milwaukee. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall, with the Rev. Wayne Byerly officiating. The Reed family will receive friends following the service. Memorial donations may be made to Forsyth County Hospice, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
