LINCOLNTON - Mr. Ward W. Wishon, 40, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at his home. He was a native of Forsyth County, born July 23, 1964, the son of the late Warren Warden Wishon and Cleo Teague Wishon of Germanton. Ward attended First Wesleyan Church in Cherryville and was employed as a mechanic with U.S. Airways for 18 years. Surviving are his wife, Susan Bumgarner Wishon of the home; his mother, Cleo Teague Wishon of Germanton; a sister, Corrine Scott of Winston-Salem; and a nephew, Nicholas Ogburn of Greenville, N.C. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, at First Wesleyan Church in Cherryville, with the Rev. Mark Pope Officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Monday in the fellowship hall at the church and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092. Carpenter's Funeral Home in Cherryville is serving the Wishon family.
