Our lovely mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, Yvette Nelson Campbell, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family. Born on August 15, 1956, in Harlem, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lee and Elizabeth Nelson Glenn, and the stepdaughter of the late Robert Glenn.
She was a compassionate person with a loving heart who enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing on the lake.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Michael Campbell; her daughters Shaquita Baines (Corey) of Winston-Salem, NC; Tracy Nelson (Michael) of Fayetteville, NC; Leslie Campbell of Winston-Salem, NC; son Jamal Campbell (Miranda) of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Tashema Richards, Shakema Valentine (Lou), Bria Nelson, Sheldon Taylor Jr., Jayla Campbell, Tiana Cohen, Nyomi Head; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Cherise Taylor (Kevin) of Winston-Salem, NC and brothers Donell Glenn of Winston-Salem, NC and Richard Bell of Winston-Salem, NC.
Mrs. Campbell will be publicly viewed from 12 to 6 p.m., on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Clark S. Brown Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at Solid Rock United Bible Way Church, 3700 South Dale Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC, on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens, 3663 Piedmont Memorial Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. The family will greet friends at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Love you mom. Not a day goes by that I don´t think about you. The days leading up to the time the lord took away were the toughest but family stick together and stay strong. Thank you for being the backbone for this family time and time again. No other love will fill the void of losing someone so near and dear to me. May you continue to rest mom and be the light to my darkness and guide the way. Love you to infinity and beyond. Until the lord joins us again

This is my grandmother and although I still have family I have no one to talk to. Since she has been gone my heart hurts to the core. I find myself fighting back my tears every minute of the day. I miss her so so much... may she rest peacefully

I haven´t seen Vett in quite a while but I had the chance to conversate with her through fb messenger. I remember when I first met Donna and Vett back in the 70´s they lived across the street from my Aunt in the Morningside community. Donna was my classmate and we knew she had a protective sister named Yvette, she was very protective of her sister and stayed in the shadows Yvette was layed back and always had that smile. My sincere Condolences to Mike and the family, I´m certain you all will miss her, R.I.P Yvette Campbell
