He also served as a supervisor for the Town of Baraboo for eight years. He enjoyed bike riding, deer hunting, camping, traveling, singing, games with family and friends as well as visiting with them. Arden was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Badgers fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Bev; he was blessed by having his two children, Judith (John) Mente, Timothy (Lois Patterson) Gaffney; he is further survived by his grandchildren, Benjamin (Laurynda) Gaffney, Melissa Weinke, Brandon (Adrianne) Clark and Guy Gaffney; along with 11 great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Kelcey, Zach, Dugan, Katelynn, Ally, Lilly, Jacob, Nolan, Bryton, Amaya; as well as his sister-in-law, Ellen Fry and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Church of Baraboo with Pastor Ron Bupp officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A private family burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research or the National MS Society. The Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to our church family, friends, neighbors, old and new. Thank you to Dr. Carlson, Dr. Zirkel, Home Health United, and Agrace Hospice for their care of Arden.
