Christine Kaup Obituary
Christine A. (Reider) Kaup, age 75, of Menasha, was summoned to the other side on the 26th of August, 2025, in Menasha, Wisconsin.
Christine was born in the City of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, the daughter of Joseph J. and Anne M. (Hack) Reider. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School where she learned the secretarial skills along with an appreciation for music – she used throughout her life.
As a first generation (her mother, uncle and grandparents immigrated from Germany), and when wanting to be a teacher, she was told, "the only one in this family going to college will be your brother because he will have a family to support," she worked on a college reading list for years. Her educational goal was interrupted as a mother and homemaker. She not only graduated from MPTC in 1992 with an associate degree, but when working full-time attended college courses nights and weekends graduating from Silver Lake College in 2000, earning a BS degree Suma cum Laude. Her graduate degree, Masters in Public Administration, was completed at UW Oshkosh in 2004.
Her employment ranged from secretarial work in insurance and medical offices, to the 1980 US Census, and after earning her civil engineering associate degree. Employment was in structural steel and stone drafting, residential energy auditing, building inspection and code enforcement. She culminated her working life by assisting job hunters with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development at the Menasha Job Center–including case management in the Trade Adjustment Assistance (US Department of Commerce) program.
As a youth, she participated in 4-H, and as a homemaker – 10 years with Dodge County Extension Homemakers in a local club and on the county level. She volunteered with her daughter's grade school classes and on fund-raising committees when her daughter attended Wayland Academy, and other Beaver Dam non-profits.
During retirement, she researched and assembled her family history, sharing with relatives. Christine loved dancing with her favorite partner, Larry. She also enjoyed yoga, and was an avid walker – and volunteered at the Menasha Library. Utilizing her knowledge and experience with housing, she served several years on the City of Menasha Housing Authority.
Christine is survived by Larry, her loving spouse of 24 years, her acquired children, Zachary Kaup, Kaitlin J. (Derek) Rinabarger, and grandchildren: Damian, Adam and Brandon Kaup, Reid and Ruby Reinabarger, along with her estranged daughter Erin (Douglas) Ennis, and three grandsons. Also surviving are her brother James M. (Joyce) Reider, her nephew, Michael J. (Terra) Reider, and Emilie (Michael) Semmerling, two grand-nieces, and a dear first cousin, Patti O'Dwyer.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, one acquired son, Lukas P. Kaup, her sister, Karen S. Reider, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, grandparents, along with several aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service will be at the Menasha Senior Center at 116 Main Street on.
