BEAVER DAM - Darlene D. Zimmerman, age 87, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at Bay Harbor on Friday, January 5, 2024.
Darlene was born on July 2, 1936, in Beaver Dam, to Marcel and Angeline (Polzin) Sadowski.
She married Leon "Manny" Zimmerman on December 26, 1953 in Beaver Dam.
She worked for many years at Monarch Range in Beaver Dam and John Deere in Horicon.
Manny and Darlene loved spending their winters in Texas with their "second" family. She was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Darlene is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Pat) Zimmerman, Fond du Lac; grandchildren: Danielle (David) Dins, Mount Calvary, Joshua (Reigina) Zimmerman, Fond du Lac; great-grandchildren: Alesha and Anthony Lavine, Malayna and Brooklyn Dins, Peyton and Hayden Dins, Hayden Seibel; sisters-in-law: Audrey Sadowski, Sandy Sadowski, Marilea Reinke; and further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Joan "Ericka" Clausen; grandchildren: Ami Lavine, Deke McGovern; brothers: Charles, James, and Phil Sadowski; sisters: Bernice (Bob) Braemer, Delores (Willy) Schindle, Marie (Joseph) Wapneski and other relatives.
A memorial gathering for Darlene will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 2:00 p.m until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Wendt officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bay Harbor and SSM Hospice for supporting her care during the past few months.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam or SSM Hospice in Fond du Lac would be appreciated.
