Denny Smith
June 25, 1952 - March 30, 2023
BARABOO - Denny Smith, born in West Allis on June 25, 1952, passed away in Baraboo, the town he lovingly referred to as "Clown Town," on March 30, 2023.
A champion of the people, he was known to stop people on the street to offer a ride, a warm meal, or a place to stay. Denny was also a wise guy, quick with the one-liners that strove to make people smile. He was trained as an industrial electrician in the Air Force and in his retirement, he volunteered with the DAV, the VA office, and the Sauk County Dems. He was most proud of his advocacy work for Veterans.
He is survived by his son, Corey H. Smith; daughter and son-in-law Danielle and Colin Duffy; and his three sisters: Nancy Ryan, Sharon Bartz, and Patricia Revall. He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Anna Smith; and brother, Mike Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ochsner Park in Baraboo, on June 2, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please donate to one of his favorite local charities, Al Ringling Theater, Beyond Blessed Pantry, or the Disabled American Veterans chapter 8.

We have a sympathy card that we would like to send to the family, but we cannot find an address or the name of the funeral home that handled the arrangements. Denny Smith was, and is, a wonderful soul who truly cared about others. He came to all of our political events and I will miss the great conversations we had. A donation has been made in his name to Beyond Blessed Food Pantry.
