Don L. Williams
September 22, 2025
Don L. Williams, age 62, of Necedah Wisconsin, was welcomed into heaven's gates on September 22, 2025 at Gundersen Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Don was surrounded by his daughter Emily and sister Diana, as he was reunited with his wife Melissa. After complications from a short and unexpected cancer journey.
Don (Donald) enjoyed the simple things in life. He fully embraced a day at home with cups of coffee, the news, westerns or old time tv shows, pepsi zero, a book and word searches. He enjoyed many visits with his daughter where they would have dinner and watch TV, along with times on the deck with his sister. Don liked warm sunny days and seeing the birds in the yard. He especially loved and missed the simple days with his wife Melissa, where they got to share each day together. Don also had a sense of humor and was happy to support and help the community when he could.
Don was born in Waukegan, IL in April of 1963. Don grew up in a large family and lived in many states over the years. Don always talked about the memories he had with his cousins and grandparents growing up and remembered them fondly.
In the mid 90's, Don moved to Necedah, WI where he met his wife Melissa and married November 8th, 1997. They were married 25 years before God called Melissa home. Don was very proud of this accomplishment and deeply cherished her, even if he couldn't always show it. In 1998, Don and Melissa welcomed their daughter, Emily. He was excited and proud to have a daughter, and he always reflected on her early years with joy.
Over the years Don worked for several factories and had his own house painting business, Don's Improvements. Don fully enjoyed outdoor and indoor house painting and did excellent work, leaving many happy customers. Don would bring his daughter on many of these work trips and now she shares her knowledge of house painting when she helps friends and family paint their homes.
Don officially retired in 2025, where he got to enjoy being at home and all the things he loved. Don loved learning and reading about US history and Native Americans, he could watch many documentaries about either! Don was the biggest Elvis fan you could ever know! Not only did he have a collection of Elvis memorabilia, he had a good collection of Elvis records. Don could tell you any facts about Elvis and if a documentary or book about Elvis had accurate or false information. He loved listening to all of Elvis' music, watching concerts and his movies.
Don is survived by his daughter, Emily Williams; sisters: Diana King, Brenda (Jeff) Hartfield, Carolyn Taylor, and Tricia (Michael) Ulven; brother, Robert Williams and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Don is reunited with his wife, Melissa Williams; sister, Betty Roback; brother in law, Harold King; parents, Dorothy and Braxton Williams; grandparents and many more family members.
