Faye Helen Nelson

September 17, 1939 - March 2, 2025

Faye Helen Nelson, age 85, of Baraboo, WI passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. Faye was born in Madison, WI on Sept 17, 1939.

She was an avid reader of books and animal lover. She owned many horses over the years that started with her first horse as a young girl on the family farm. She competed in horse endurance race competitions with her favorite horse, Fool, an Arabian mare. She always had a faithful dog by her side and loved feeding and watching the birds in her yard.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband "Bud", daughters Janis and Terri, her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Gary) Shepard, Toni (Kirk) Jaborek of Baraboo and Brian (Rhonda) Nelson of Tomah; six grandchildren, Annie, Samantha, Gary Jr, Christopher, Matthew and Derek, and five great grandchildren, Liam, Rory, Monique, Raylan and Orion. She is also survived by extended family members and her most recent and dearly loved dog - Lilly.

A special thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors of St Mary's Hospital for their kindness and compassion in caring for Faye.

A private family celebration will be held to honor Faye's life.
