Howard Breneman Obituary
Howard Breneman
September 20, 1959 - July 4, 2025
Howard Lee Breneman (Howie) was born on September 20, 1959 in Portage, WI to Glen and Arlette Breneman. He lived a hard-working, simple life, and made countless friends along the way. Howard passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2025.
One more, and I gotta go - Howard grew up on the family farm, where he developed the strong work ethic that he carried with him throughout his life. He graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1977. Over the years he held several physically demanding jobs, which included plumbing, metal building construction, and eventually farming, which he did until retirement.
One more, and I gotta go - Howard was the proud father of two children. He was a fun-loving father who enjoyed attending sporting events for his sons. He rarely missed a game, clipped newspaper articles, and took every opportunity to share his boys' accomplishments with anyone who would listen.
One more, and I gotta go - Howard had a passion for music. He loved to jam and often attended live shows with his friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a deep connection to his family's land where he hunted his entire life. Howard loved the camaraderie between friends and family who gathered for his annual deer camp celebration.
One more, and I gotta go - Howard is survived by his children, Jacob (Bethany) Breneman and Benjamin (Megan) Breneman, and his beloved grandchildren Dylan, Teddy, Nathan, and Maelyn. He is also survived by his siblings John (Judy) Breneman, Lida (Marlon) Bayne, Betsy Wilcox, and Gary Breneman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Arlette Breneman; his brother, Terry Breneman; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Wilcox.
One more, and I gotta go - By way of his infectious personality, sense of humor, and genuine care for others, Howie made many, many friends who treated him like family. They were always at his side when times were tough, and along for the ride when times were good. While there are too many close friends to list here, just know that your friendship meant the world to him.
Howie never ran short of puns or one-liners. A common one being "One more and I gotta go". Even though his family and friends would love to share one more, it was Howie's time to go.
In lieu of a traditional funerial service, the family will be hosting a celebration of life at Giddy Up Bar and Grill in Dalton, WI on August 23rd from 1-5 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to attend to share fond memories of Howard.
