John E. Butterbrodt

John E. Butterbrodt, 96, of Beaver Dam passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
John was born on February 14, 1929 in Beaver Dam to Ervin and Josephine (O'Mara) Butterbrodt. He was a 1946 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and U.W.-Madison Short Course in 1947. John was married to June Rose Bolhalter on September 27, 1952 at Holy Angels Church in West Bend.
John was a purebred Dairy Breeder and farmer in the Burnett area. He was a 4-H leader and supporter of Future Farmers of America, having received both the American Farmer Degree and the Honorary American Farmer Degree. John served as Vice President of Pure Milk Association. He organized and served as President of Associated Milk Producers, Inc. (AMPI). He was active in national politics during the President Nixon term of office. John established and operated WI Real Estate, Inc. He was an owner and President of Sunset Hills Golf & Supper Club. He later established and operated Real Estate Consultants, Inc. as a certified general appraiser.
John loved to golf. He belonged to the Tuesday Senior League, the Wednesday Golf Group, and Thursday Gold Tee League. John also enjoyed playing cards with his friends. He also enjoyed sports and was a Brewers, Packers, and Bucks fan.
John is survived by his wife of 73 years, June; daughter, Claire Sedushak of Oconomowoc; son, Larry (Bev) Butterbrodt of Statesville, NC; grandchildren: Angela (Matt) Meacham, Jaclyn (Justin) Levetzow, Aaron (Devon) Butterbrodt, Colin (Ani) Sedushak, and Ashley (Nick) DeMark; great-grandchildren: Ethan and Olivia Sedushak, Madelyn and John Butterbrodt, and Myla and Logan Levetzow; step-great grandchildren: Calvin and Claudia Meacham and Aidan DeMark; sister-in-law, Sue Butterbrodt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Butterbrodt; brothers, Clarence and Ray Butterbrodt, and sister, Mary Smigielski.
A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 4:00 p.m., until 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Will Arnold will officiate. Entombment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to St. Katharine Drexel School or the
charity of one's choice.
