Mark Dahlquist Obituary

Dahlquist, Mark

MAUSTON - Mark Dahlquist, age 62, of rural Mauston, Wis., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at his residence.

Mark was born May 18, 1959, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Lois (Jonas) and the late Harold Dahlquist. He grew up in the western and northwestern suburbs of Chicago and was known as a friend to all. His life adventures led him to the Rock Camping Resort Bar in Mauston, Wis. Though he never had a family of his own, he called this his family and home. He never turned down an opportunity to help someone in need. His cousins, the Miller family, have owned property in the Cottonville area of Adams County for 50 years. Mark will be missed by many.

He is survived by his mother, Lois, and his brother, Craig Dahlquist, both of Peoria, Ill.; nine nieces and nephews, Carey Donlan (Cody), Amanda Dahlquist, Martin Dahlquist, Michael Dahlquist and Ellen Dahlquist, all of Peoria, Ill., Molly Dahlquist of St Louis, Mo., and Andrew Lindholm of Joliet, Ill., Mary Frahm (Matt) of Normal, Ill., and Thomas Carroll of Vermont; and brother-in-law, Thomas Carroll. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold; sister, Kay Dahlquist; and nephew, Danny Dahlquist.

At this time no memorial arrangements have been made. His ashes will be buried with his father in the Chicago area.

The Conway-Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lyndon Station, Wis., assisted the family with arrangements. For online condolences and information, go to www.pichafuneralhome.com.

I am deeply saddened by Mark's passing. My condolences to the family. I remember Mark as a friend and a big part of the Miller's pig roast. He was a good guy. If he knew you needed help, he was there for you. Not a lot of people like him. May he rest in peace. :(

To all who new and loved Mark, my thoughts and prayers go out to you.
My most recent memory is he stopped by for a beer on Friday, and like always, I asked if he could look at a problem I had with my water heater. And once again he didn't bat an eye and jumped in. Sure enough the water heater was fixed.
I have a lot of those kinda memories, but one of my favorites was over the winter having the brush pile fires, they were awesome.
RIP my friend.

We are very saddened of the passing of this wonderful, loving, funny, and hard working man. He was so generous and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. To name a few of the best memories we have of Mark is when he took Willow for a ride on the lawnmower when he was cutting the grass or when we went fishing throwing a few casts and shooting down a few beers. We have so many great memories with Mark. Wish we could add more. R.I.P. our dear friend and condolences to the family.

He was a great man! I will never forget the last 3 years he would come to my camper and share "dad things"... as well as show me how to use certain tools and help me with simple tasks I never learned! He will always have a special place in my heart!! Much love to his direct family and his Rock Camping resort and point bluff family! May He rest in peace!!
