Paul K. "Paulie" Schoenherr
March 16, 1938 - November 7, 2025
Paul K. "Paulie" Schoenherr, age 87, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Meadows in Fall River.
He was born March 16, 1938, in Neillsville to Kurt and Irene (Meier) Schoenherr. Paul graduated from Columbus High School in 1956. He married Patricia Donnelly on May 17, 1958, and enjoyed 65 years together, raising their three children on their family dairy farm. Paul was a farmer all his life, starting with working horses and hauling milk to the creamery in cans to John Deere tractors and an automated milking system his son installed. He was also in the National Guard, reporting to Fort McCoy for training.
Paul enjoyed playing fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball in younger years. He played long enough to play a few years with his son Bob, whom he taught to pitch. He played for numerous teams, but the "Desert Inn 2" was his favorite as the team was made up of "all the good old boys."
Paul enjoyed playing cards at Club 60 - always time for "three quick games" on his way home from town - plenty of good times and stories had by all. He enjoyed traveling with his wife whenever possible: trips to Las Vegas during Pat's spring break from school with his brother Wallie and his wife Marge, also to Ireland, Branson, Alaska twice, trip out East to Niagara Falls and New York after 9/11. They also enjoyed casino bus tours to different casinos and shows.
He also enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Canada with his dad, Russel Farr, brother Wallie and his cousin Roger Northrup. His greatest pleasure of all was becoming a grandpa - he could not wait for that day. Grandpa was there "whenever they needed him" from "sleepovers" doing his nails at the kitchen table, going for 4-wheeler rides, gator rides and supporting whatever they were "selling" at that particular time - he loved the FFA fruit sale the best!
Paul was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa. He taught all of us to work together and to "get the job done" right the first time and "then you can have fun." He was a man that enjoyed a cold beer, diet A&W root beer, game of cards, westerns on TV, popcorn, fishing, driving his tractors to help with whatever crop work was going on and going to Door County in the fall for wine and smoked fish. We were blessed to have him in our lives and will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his three children Robert (Kathy), Barbara (Gary) Reifsnider, Tom (Bonnie); four grandchildren Nicole (Andrew) Kruesel, Eric, Shelby and Hailey Schoenherr; two great-grandchildren Henry and Collette Kruesel; brothers Walter, Don (Sandy) and Kurt Jr. (Deb); brother-in-law Mike (Barbara) Donnelly; sisters-in-law Mary Platt, Kate (Gordon) Platt, Betty Donnelly, Irene (Duane) Golliher and Sarah Aguiniga; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives, as well as numerous friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Pat in 2024, granddaughter Holly Jo, his parents, father and mother-in-law, brother Gerald his wife Joyce, four brothers and three sisters in infancy; sister-in-law Marge Schoenherr, brothers-in-law Don (Joan), Tom (Bev) Martin, Platt, Jose' Aguiniga, infant Gerald Donnelly.
