Donald Fait Obituary

Donald "Red" Fait age 78 of Nekoosa, formerly of Auburndale, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Riverview Medical Center in Wisconsin Rapids.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 PM. at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa and Saturday at church from 10:30 until the time of service. Donald was born April 24, 1934 in Milladore to Stanley and Mary (Pitra) Fait. He married Ramona Knutson on September 8, 1954 in Auburndale. Red was employed by Georgia Pacific Corporation (Domtar) for 36 years, retiring in 1992 as load dispatcher.

Red was union treasurer of Local 52 for 27 years, former clerk of the town of Port Edwards, and vice-president of the Nekoosa Labor Temple board. He was active in softball and baseball in both the County and Cloverbelt leagues. He played semi-pro baseball for the Marshfield Rollers and Marshfield Brewers. He was also an avid golfer and woodworker.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona; 5 children, Randy (Leona) Fait of Greenwood, AR, Terrance (Sally) Fait of Wisconsin Rapids, Ron (Pam) Fait of Plover, Jeff (Loretta) Fait of Appleton, Jody Gotzion (Todd Smith) of Poynette; 11 grandchildren, Kelly, Matt, Andy, Tony, Julie, Eric, Ben, Jared, Justin, Aven, and Lily; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Marvin (Jane) Fait of Marshfield, Vernon (Adeline) Fait of Mosinee, and Dennis (Carol) Fait of Auburndale; sister-in-law, Joan Fait of Marshfield, brother-in-law, Jim Nelson of Wisconsin Rapids and sister-in-law, Marleen Knutson of Auburndale.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Stanley Fait, one sister-in-law, Sandy Nelson, and one brother-in-law, Douglas Knutson.
