Floyd "Freddy" H. Scheunemann, age 90, of Wisconsin Rapids (formerly of Vesper), passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. Pastor Doug Schalow will officiate. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Vesper. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the church.

Floyd was born August 14, 1926 in the Town of Hansen, Wood County, to Gustave and Ella (Duchow) Scheunemann. He married Adeline Polansky on August 7, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sigel. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage.

Floyd was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. in the Biron Division as a tow motor operator and retired after 33 years as lead man.

Floyd was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. He held many church offices throughout the years. He served as chairman of the new church committee and superintendent of Sunday School. Floyd was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League, volunteered at Bethesda Thrift Store, and was involved with the Orphan Grain Train Ministries.

Floyd and Adeline enjoyed traveling throughout the world. Germany was among their favorite places. They also enjoyed a special family trip out west.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Adeline; six children: Daniel (Judy) Scheunemann, Jerry (Barbara) Scheunemann, Susan (Jack) Felch, Barry (Carol) Scheunemann, Karen (Robert) Bohm, and Thomas (Geralyn) Scheunemann; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 3 more great-grandchildren on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leona Lubeck; brothers: Harvey, Norman, and Milton; in-laws: Mildred Tesser, Caroline Klumb, Arzella Appel, Edward Polansky; grandson Jamie; and great-granddaughter Ashley.
