Michael J. Hasenohrl

Nekoosa - Michael J. Hasenohrl, age 93, of Nekoosa, died peacefully at his home on Saturday March 20, 2021 surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday March 25, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing and Rev. Valentine Joseph will concelebrate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa with military rites accorded by the Nekoosa VFW Post #5960. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mike was born February 11, 1928 in Auburndale to John and Anna (Schneider) Hasenohrl. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 until 1952. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal-Japan, Korean Service Medal. Bronze Service Star and United Nations Service Medal. Mike married Patricia Willfahrt on September 21, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale. They were happily married for 63 years. For 43 years he was employed at Nekoosa Papers Inc., retiring as a paper machine tender on May 31, 1990.

Mike was a member of the Nekoosa VFW Post #5960. His interests included hunting, fishing, gardening and watching his hummingbirds and cardinals. He loved his gadgets and recording the weather. He especially loved his polka music. Mike was greatly honored to take the Honor Flight to Washington D. C. Above all Mike loved his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; five children Janeen (Al) Sievers of Wisconsin Rapids, Bryan (Mary) Hasenohrl of Plover, Bruce (Mary) Hasenohrl of Wisconsin Rapids. Susan (Thomas) Ciaciura of Hanover Park, IL and Mary (Scott) Miltimore of Nekoosa; ten grandchildren Michael (Elizabeth) Sievers, Angela (Charles) Jochimsen, Matthew (Krystal) Sievers, Joseph (Kaylin) Hasenohrl, Anna (Josh) Koziczkowski, Christopher Ciaciura, Catherine (Troy) Jasin, Amelia Tometczak, Scott Miltimore and Elizabeth (Max) Winters; great grandchildren Ryan, Racquel and Taylor Sievers, Kailee, Jared, Meghan, Rachel, Lia, Macie, Jace, Zoey and Hazel Jochimsen, Mia Sievers, Lucy, Evelyn and Madeline Hasenohrl, Jack and Jett Jasin, Addison Slusser, Avery and Livvy Tometczak and Michael Winters and his sister Marie Hasenohrl.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Petronella Bredl; brothers George, John, Elmer, Clarence, Edward, Frank, Robert, William and James Hasenohrl. And by his great granddaughter Emma Jochimsen.

The Hasenohrl Family would like to thank Father John Swing, Father Valentine and Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

When someone you love

Pat and families, I am so sorry for your great loss. My heart and prayers are with each of you. Mike was truly one of the good guys that was so well liked and respected by so many. He has left such a wonderful legacy with his family. He led a great life and I am sure his reward in Heaven is as great. I am always a shout away for you all. Hugs and prayers and love.
