Virginia Baltus Obituary

Virginia H. Baltus

Nekoosa - Virginia H. Baltus, age 90, of Nekoosa passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Virginia was born February 17, 1931 in New Miner, WI to Frank and Maria (Koziol) Baron. She married Floyd Baltus on June 2, 1951 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the town of Sigel. Floyd died January 24, 2003. Virginia was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Riverview Manor for 17 years, retiring in 1991. She was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by four children Dennis (Carole) Baltus, Debra Baltus (William Shamoun), Lori Baltus and Kellie (Shane) Blaser; her grandchildren Melissa (Steven) Swierczewski, Justin Shamoun, Jaston Orr, Rachel Shamoun, McKayla Blaser and Ethan Blaser; and two great-grandchildren Evan and Julia Swierczewski. Virginia is further survived by sisters-in-law Evelyn Wojcik, Jeanette Baltus, Alvina Swetz and Bernadine Baltus, and her step family including Carol Heinen and Sharon Kizewski and by her Sobojinski step family

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Genevieve, Lottie, Henry, Stanley, Adeline, Mary and John Jr. and by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and step-brothers and step-sisters.

The Baltus Family would like to thank the staff of Nekoosa Court for the wonderful care and friendship given to Virginia.
