Beryl P. Griffith

Beryl P. Griffith passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior in the early morning of March 10, 2026, after a short stay at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on March 30, 1931, on Staten Island, NY, to Charles S. and Anna N. Perry. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara (Perry) Mould. She attended Nyack Missionary College, Nyack, NY, where she met her first husband, Ronald Griffiths. They were married on June 9, 1951. Together they served as missionaries for the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Peru, South America. Upon returning to the United States, Beryl served alongside Ronald who pastored several churches across the United States. They had three children: Cheryl Nancy, Glenn Charles, and Judith Ellen. After the death of Ronald in 1992, Beryl married Roger Griffith on August 17, 2003, and her family was enlarged to now include Roger's three children: Ronald, Roger and Cathryn. They enjoyed 22 years of marriage living in their home on the outskirts of New Hartford and enjoying the wildlife God sent to their backyard each day. Beryl served for many years as the secretary of Calvary Church, Utica. In her 80's she was employed by Helping Hands assisting the elderly and providing companionship. Beryl's greatest loves were Jesus Christ and her family. She started every day reading her Bible and praying for those she loved. She maintained a relationship with each of her children and grandchildren through letter writing and phone calls, always reminding them of her prayers for them. Her favorite times were when she was with her family, particularly "Thanksmas" when as many as possible gathered in her home to celebrate a combination of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Upon her death, Beryl had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beryl enjoyed playing hymns on the piano, sewing, gardening, studying the Bible with others, homemaking, reading a good book, and praying for those in need. She was a member of the New Hartford United Methodist Church for many years. A private celebration of Beryl's life will be held in the spring.
