Betty J. Mosher, age 95, of Herkimer, entered eternity on Sunday September 28, 2025.
She was born on May 11, 1930, to John and Grace (Smallenburger) Kogut as Elizabeth Jane, the youngest of six children. She was raised on 2 farms, so she knew the value of hard work. She graduated from Holland Patent School, which she told most everyone she was voted best dancer and prom queen. Betty married Zane Mosher on February 9, 1952. She worked for MDS, InterCounty Home Care and lastly, Walmart from age 70 to 85 as a people greeter.
She is survived by her sons Lee, Russell and Daryl (Judy), her daughter Carleen (Jeff) Taylor, grandchildren; Richard (Charissa) Herron, Theresa (Tim Kluge), Matthew, Michael, Sulee, great-grandchildren; Gabby, Ashton, Tenley, Carter, Cade, Cailen, Camden, Aubrey, Abygail, Elijah, Grace, Kieran, Kylah Black (Lance) , and Richard III ( Hanna) and her great- great-grandchildren; Clayton, Bentley, Kysandra, Adalena, Emberlynn, Salem and Ashlyn. As well as her sister-in-law Marge and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was predeceased by Zane, her sisters Verna Cheney Nickerson, Dorothy (John) Pest; brothers Harold, Francis and John, sister-in-law Irene and Carol; Bernice (Harry Wank) and Irma Mosher. Also, two infant daughters Karen and Kim, grandson Caleb Taylor and great grandson Isaac Taylor Cooney.
Betty's family was her life, she loved cooking and feeding everyone, she was known as mom, ma, and gramma Betty to many. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family. She was the matriarch and watchwomen on Folts Road. She loved sitting on her porch and telling her many life stories as well as her walks on Folts Road with family and friends and especially Ann and Bizkit.
Betty always said God helped her through many challenges, to always work hard and to remember the two words, "common sense."
"Well, that's it."
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services for Betty. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Enea-Ciaccia Applegate Funeral Directors, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion New York 13357. 315-894-8000
