Betty Paradowski Obituary
Betty B. Paradowski, 89, of Durhamville, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Bethany Gardens in Rome.
She was born on January 22, 1936, in Oneida, the daughter of Herbert and Evelyn (George) Phillips Sr. She was a descendant and member of the Turtle Clan of the Oneida Indian Nation, which settled in the Marble Hill area of the Town of Vernon.
On February 26, 1955, Betty was united in marriage to Robert W. Paradowski. Robert passed away on March 6, 2025.
Betty had been employed from 1993 to 1997, in the card room at Turning Stone Casino. She had been previously employed at General Electric and DieMolding Corp.
Betty was an avid golfer and bowler.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula (William) Terwilleger, of Durhamville, and Elizabeth (Mike) Smith, of Canastota; six grandchildren, Robert Pawlikowski, Renee (Rich) Smith, Anne Marie (Jake) Fink, Kimberly (Rob) Barton, Theresa Pawlikowski (Danny Brown), and Christopher (Brittany) Eddy; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene "Al" (Carol) Phillips, of Oneida; two sisters, Connie Roher, of Oneida, and Martha (Robert) Rood, of Oneida; one sister-in-law, Nancy Phillips, of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.. Betty was predeceased by four brothers, Herbert Phillips Jr. on September 28, 1965, Theodore "Ted" Phillips on December 1, 2001, Kenneth R. Phillips on June 17, 2009, and Melvin Phillips Sr. on June 22, 2023; two sisters, Nellie Lilly on September 7, 1989, and Vicki Jenkinson on December 22, 2021; two brothers-in-law, Claude Roher on November 24, 2024, and William Jenkinson on February 22, 2018; and a nephew, Daryl Phillips on November 21, 1981.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., 342 Main St., Oneida. Interment will take place in St. Francis Cemetery, Durhamville. Family and friends are invited and may call before the service from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to the Durhamville Fire Department.
