Daniel Ray Krantz

Forestport – Daniel R. Krantz, 46, of River Road, husband of Sam, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 9, 2024, while visiting family in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Daniel was born on January 28, 1978 in Fort Wayne, IN, a son of Gregory A. Krantz and Patricia Good. He was raised in Fort Wayne where he received his education. While in school he became skilled in the welding trade. He worked with Chuck Mynett Racing of Fort Wayne for several years where he was a welder and fabricator for the company, working on their modified and sprint class racing cars. For a time, he also served as crew chief for Rick Coe. In 1999 Daniel relocated to New York State. In July of 2005 he met the love of his life, Samantha Drake. The couple were united in marriage in Inlet, NY on the anniversary of the day they met, July 20, 2014. They made their home on River Rd., Forestport where they raised their family. Daniel enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a family man at heart, and a wonderful stay at home dad while his wife was at work. Some of his most memorable occasions where made camping with his children on North Lake during the summer months. Together with his family they had attended Bethel Baptist Church, Prospect. Besides his wife Samantha, he is survived by his children: Montana Burrell (Devin) and their fur baby Tank of Inlet, Savanna Krantz, Austin Krantz, and Logan Krantz, all of Forestport, his father Gregory, Fort Wayne, IN, and many treasured friends. He was predeceased by his mother Patricia Murphy, and his canine companion Diesel. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
