Darlene Monette Obituary

Darlene A. Monette, 84, of Rome, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Rome Health. Born on April 29, 1941, Darlene was the daughter of the late Cletus A. and Elizabeth (Bormann) Halpin. She attended Rome schools. On January 19, 1963, Darlene married Gerald G. Monette in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rome. They enjoyed a blessed union of 51 years before Jerry's death on August 19, 2014. Darlene was a nurse's aide for Rome Nursing Home prior to retiring. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Joe Fiorenza; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Melissa Monette; sisters, Joan (Tony) Betrus, Roberta (Tony) Terzini, Robert Halpin, Charles (Diane) Halpin, William (Mary) Halpin, John (Chris) Halpin and David (Jan) Halpin; grandchildren, Joseph (Jessica) Fiorenza, Jr., Brittany (Andy) Fiorenza-House, Keain (Nicole) Monette; great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Adrien, Jayce and Alivia. Darlene also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, including special friend Vicky Luce. Darlene was predeceased by three brothers, Cletus Halpin, James Halpin and Richard Halpin. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Remembrances in Darlene's name may be made to the family.
