David Iamele Obituary

David H. Iamele, 81, of Utica, New York, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 4, 1943, in Utica, David was the cherished son of the late Henry and Winifred Iamele and is the beloved brother of Donna Portzeba and her husband, Joseph, of Marcy, NY. David was the devoted husband of Linda Dack Iamele, his partner in life and love. Together, they raised four children who brought immense pride and joy to his life: David Iamele Jr. (Marianne), Dexa Iamele (Joanna Hicks), Mathew Iamele, and Wendy Iamele (Brian Weaver). He was a proud grandfather to Jessica Main, Nicholas Iamele (Paige Ford), Brooke Iamel (Kaleb Pohleven), Hunter Iamele (Lexi Jones), Abigail Weaver, Hailie Weaver, and a doting great-grandfather to Skyler and Terran Main. David's constant companion and favorite furry friend, Molly May, brought him boundless happiness in his later years. David pursued his education at Utica Free Academy, Mohawk Valley Community College, and Empire State University, majoring in Business. His dedication and work ethic led him to a successful career as a Sales Representative at Mostek and Tri-Tech Electronics, where he was known for his integrity and professionalism. A man of faith, David was a devoted member of Cassville Baptist Church, where he enjoyed attending services and cherished his church family. He was also an active participant in the Promise Keepers Group, the Coalition of Christian Farmers, and Gideons International. His generosity and compassion shone through his commitment to helping those in need, a testament to his kind and loving spirit. David found joy in life's simple pleasures, including golf, fishing, family gatherings, reading, and Bible study. He especially cherished having breakfast with friends on Friday mornings, and his walks with Molly May, who was never far from his side. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care of Oneida, Herkimer, and Eastern Madison Counties for their compassionate support during David's final journey. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Friedel, Williams, and Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road in New Hartford.
