Eric Vaughn Klein

Eric Vaughn Klein, age 56, a native of Herkimer, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 31, 2024, at Florida Medical Center, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, following a brief illness. He had the love and support of his loved ones at his side, when his passing occurred. Born to the late Jean L. (Dawley) Ouimette and Robert F. Klein on September 18th, 1968, he was the youngest of four siblings. Eric was a native of Herkimer, NY, attending Herkimer schools. Eric went on to have a successful career at Team Health in IT operations for over 25 years. Eric was best known for wit and dry sense of humor. He always had a witty comeback or joke waiting. He enjoyed caring for cats and often spoke about his cat. As a sports fan, his favorite teams included the Ohio State Buckeyes, Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Reds. He cherished his family and friends. He would give the shirt off his back for those he loved and made you feel special. Eric's biggest accomplishment and what he was especially proud of was his daughters, Anastasia and Alyssa Jean. Besides his daughters, Eric is survived by his sisters, Brenda Spanfelner and Tammy, with whom he shared a special bond, brother-in-law Phil Whynot, favorite niece, Heather Spanfelner, nephew, Douglas Spanfelner, cousins and cherished friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Jean and Robert, stepfather, Louis Ouimette, brother, Robert and father-in-law, Robert Wainwright. The family would like to extend a special thanks to David Bovee, whose friendship and support meant the world to Eric, as well as his mother-in-law, Sue Wainwright for her kindness and caring for Eric. A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Broward County in Eric's honor. Daniel J.
