Eugene C. Ray

Eugene C. Ray Verona Eugene C. Ray, 67, of Verona, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at home, with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 10, 1958 in Utica, the son of the late Eugene "Buddy" and Eleanor R. (Perrone) Ray. Eugene graduated from High School and furthered his education at SUNY Morrisville, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Diesel Technology. He was employed with PLC Trenching in Clinton until he became too ill to continue. Eugene loved spending time with family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was an accomplished drummer, playing for many years with their band, "Fault Line". In his free time, Eugene enjoyed fishing on Lake Moraine and various areas on Oneida Lake. Surviving are his loving Fiancée of 24 years, Tammy McCann; daughter, Brittany Ray; son, Brandon Ray; son and daughter-in-law, Felo (Cassidy Sanchez) Martinez ; grandchildren, Julius, Landyn, Makenna, Jayla, Liam, Elijah, Caleb and Logan; step-children, Ashley Haman, Michael Haman, John Haman and Jessica Haman and their grandchildren, Emily Bellinger, Isabella Bellinger and Parker Bellinger; sister-in-law, Carol (David) Jablonski; special niece, Maryellen Doan; close friends, Mike Richland and Cameron Meulengracht and many other family and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Angie Ray and best friend, Larry Paisano. Eugene's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff with Hospice & Palliative Care, especially his nurse, Amanda, Pastor Wally Plock and to Dr. Alicia Detraglia and the office staff for all their wonderful care and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main Street, Whitesboro.
