Florence A Pyc
Ilion - Florence A Pyc, 97, of Ilion passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 in the Wynn Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Herkimer, New York on November 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Dudzinska Marcewicz. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1946. She was a lifelong resident of Herkimer County.
Florence was employed by Herkimer Area Resource Center and later as a Health Care Aide for Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls.
Florence is survived by her beloved daughter, and son in law, Donna and Charles Steele and two beloved granddaughters, Elysa and Johanna all of Saugerties, NY; another beloved daughter and son in law, Susan and Larry Walker of Ilion; her niece and husband, Sharon & Robert Grygiel and her nephew, Joseph Marcewicz and several cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent and Henry Marcewicz, two sisters & brothers in law, Gen and Jake Burchyski and Edith and Ted Kilanowski and a special sister in law, Bea Marcewicz.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:30 AM in Calvary Cemetery, W. German St., Herkimer with Deacon James Bower, officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, NY.

Aunt Flo was married to my Uncle John Pyc, who was my mothers brother. My mom was Sophie Pyc Kraszewski. I remember Aunt Flo when she lived in my grandmother and grandfathers house . She was always very pleasant to me and my brother and sisters.
