Garrett Bramer Obituary

Garrett Michael Bramer, 24, of Deansboro, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2025, as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born on September 5, 2001, in New Hartford, NY to Roger and Denise Bramer. He was a graduate of Waterville Central School District, and MVCC Phase I Police Academy 2024. He was currently employed with FedEx Ground and had just completed his orientation with Dept. of Homeland Security. Garrett was a member of CNY Snowtravelers, Waterville Forest Fish and Game Club, and Criminal Justice Club. Garrett had a passion for baseball and began playing at a very young age and continued through High School. His interest changed to love of cars, specifically BMW's and Audi's. His love of cars led him to Tuesday car meets, where he met hundreds of people who shared the same passion. Through these meets he developed a close friendship with Nick and Kylee Zalewski. Nick and Garrett spent many hours together working on and talking about cars. In the winter they loved riding snowmobiles. Garrett had a large group of friends, including Ritchie, Sabastian, Aven, Vinnie, Tim, and so many more. He had a love of sports, and rooted for the NY Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers and Syracuse Basketball. On his 21st birthday he went to Yankee Stadium, where he shared his first "legal" beer with his dad. Garrett was loving, funny, goofy and completely committed to his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Roger and Denise Bramer of Deansboro; brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Tara Williams of Deansboro; sister, Morganne Bramer of Buffalo; grandparents, Gerry and Sue McConnell of Deansboro; aunts and uncles, Renee Oneill of New Hartford, Becky and Jeff Hall of Rome, Trisha and Gerry McConnell Jr. of Deansboro, and Kim and Chuck Nonnemaker of Pennsylvania; one niece, Emma Williams of Deansboro; and several cousins, Beth and Jimmy Hall, Sophia Oneill, Dylan McConnell, and James, Cassie and Emily Nonnemaker. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Roger and Christine Bramer of Cassville. Garrett's family would like to extend their appreciation to Aven Vargas for helping Garrett immediately after the accident; MOVAC – Kathleen and Michael for their care; and to Gina Migliaccio and Kim Gehringer for all of their support that day. Words cannot express our deep gratitude for what each of you did for our family that day. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 11, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida Street, Sauquoit. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Matthew Rawson, officiating. Interment will be in Deansboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider memorials to; NYS Troopers Benevolent Association (Signal 30 Fund) www.signal30.org; 20 Century Hill Dr. S, Suite 3, Latham, NY 12110 or to the MOVAC, www.movac.org; 15 NY-5S, Mohawk, NY 13407. Earlier today

Garrett always walked into my classroom with a smile, a joke, or a funny reason as to why he might not have his homework that day... but always with a wave and a grin. He will always be a bright light. Sending my love and deepest condolences to the Bramer family. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss.
