Helen B. Fabrizi

Helen B. Fabrizi, 98, formerly of Delano Avenue and Prospect Street, Canastota, passed away on Saturday evening, August 16, 2025, in Sunnyside Care Center, East Syracuse, where she had been a resident for the past two years. Born in Canastota on June 20, 1927, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Irene Teller Bonaventura. A lifelong resident of Canastota, Helen was a graduate of Canastota Central School, Class of 1945. She married Guerino Fabrizi in St. Agatha's Church on June 19, 1948. Mr. Fabrizi passed away on July 20, 1988. Prior to her retirement, Helen was employed with Key Bank as a teller for forty-four years. After retirement, she volunteered as a teacher's aid for eighteen years at South Side Elementary School in Canastota. Helen enjoyed keeping her mind sharp with crossword puzzles other puzzles and she rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and also loved shopping. Helen was a member of the Community Players Theatre and was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are: daughter, Debra (Walt Ulrich) Norwalk of Canastota; son, Dennis (Susanne) Fabrizi of Rochester; four grandchildren, Sara (Ian Berry) Buske, Kate (Mark Brennan) Norwalk, Thomas Fabrizi and Alexis Fabrizi; one great-grandson, Daniel Buske; brothers, Joseph (Leona) Bonaventura of Cherry Valley, CA and Harold Bonaventura of Canastota; a sister-in-law, Joanne Fabrizi of Lysander and a special friend and caregiver, Linda Steffan of Canastota. She was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Pugliano, Carol (George) Robotham and Betty Carroll, brother, Salvatore Bonaventura and a son-in-law, Daniel Norwalk. Graveside services will be held 11:30AM, Saturday, August 23, 2025, in St. Agatha's Cemetery. There will be no prior services. Contributions may be made to the Wanderer's Rest Humane Association, P O Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 300 S. Peterboro Street, Canastota.
