James Darling Obituary

James E. Darling, 85, of Taberg, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was born in Rome on August 25, 1940, a son of the late James and Wihelma (Haggerty) Darling. He was a graduate of West Leyden High School and served in the United States Army. Jim was an active member of the Taberg Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Fire Police Captain for many years. He was also an active member of the Oneida County Fire Police. Jim is survived by his twin sister, Jane E. White; dear friend and caretaker, Antonio Lambiase; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Blanche May Griner, William Darling, Edward Darling, Marilyn Dorst Darling, Thomas Darling, Mary Darling, Lloyd Darling, Darlene Darling, Leonard Darling, and Frank Darling. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, NY 13440, on Wednesday, September 10th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Prospect Cemetery.
