Katherine Ciletti Obituary

ILION – Katherine (Kay) Ann Ciletti welcomed God's loving embrace on April 4, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on July 28, 1946, in Ilion, NY, the daughter of Benjamin and Etta (Hall) Mroz, who are looking down from heaven and proud of the life she built and the way that she loved her family, her friends and her faith. What helped to make Kay tough and resilient was growing up with and putting up with her three brothers, Ron, Bill and Benny, whom she loved very much. She graduated from Herkimer High School, in 1964. Kay is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Tony; her daughters, Andrea and Jesse; her son, Jimmy; her grandsons, Nick, Michael and Daniel; her brother, Ron; sisters-in-law, Judy, Anna and Florence; her many nieces and nephews; and an infinite number of friends, that she treated like family. Kay had a warmth and sweetness that was felt by so many people. Her good humor and gentle soul would put people at ease and endear them to her, many times creating relationships that lasted her lifetime. She had a deep faith in God and it was the foundation of her life. It showed in her involvement with church. She loved to sing in the choir. She planted so many seeds of faith with her selfless servant's heart in volunteer work. Most of her time over the years was spent focused upon the concern and well-being of others. She felt like everyone's Mom. We will miss her in countless ways, from her handwritten cards, to her calls singing happy birthday to us every year. Her profound love for her family was the pillar that weathered any storm. She was such a great person, big hearted, funny and a feisty Yankee fan, even in a losing season. The Yankees baseball games on the TV were always a staple of the Ciletti household. She was a hard worker, a damn good cook, a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. We trust that Kay's essence will never be forgotten and she will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her and though we will miss her terribly, we are comforted in knowing that she is at peace in heaven and because her dear friend, Annemarie, was there to meet her with a huge hug and cup of coffee. We ask you to honor her life by being the best version of yourself and by continuing to share your memories of Kay with her family. Funeral Services of which family and friends are invited to attend are as follows: Visitation will be at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, NY, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (315-894-8000). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 71 E. Main St., Mohawk, NY 13407. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Route 5, Town of Herkimer, NY. Messages of sympathy and videos can be sent to eneafuneralhomes.com on her tribute page. It is the wish of the family that memorial contributions in the memory of Kay be sent to Blessed Sacrament Church with a Mass in her honor.
