Lawrence W Hatch

Lawrence William Hatch, Sr., known affectionately to friends and family as Larry, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025 in Abingdon, MD. Born on July 5, 1943, in Herkimer, NY to LD Hatch and Marion Nunn (Hatch).

Larry's grew up in Herkimer, NY where he forged lifelong friendships, graduating from Herkimer High School, Class of 1960 before attending MVCC. After completing his education, Larry embarked on a distinguished career at Remington Arms in Ilion, NY where he served loyally for 43 years. He met and married his wife in 1965 and they raised their two children in Ilion, NY.

A devout Catholic, Larry's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through his actions and treated others with kindness and respect. His involvement with the Addolorata Rosary Society in Frankfort, NY was a testament to his commitment to his faith. He was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Apostles in Frankfort, NY before moving to Maryland in 2020 and becoming a member of Church of the Nativity, Timonium.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Gale, son Lawrence Jr., (Suzanne Steele), daughter Tracy Giordano and his adored grandchildren Makayla, Andrew, Nicolai, Cayden, Luke and Nathan. He also leaves his sister Cathy Jantzen (Eric), brother William, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Robert Downes, brother-in-law Romaine Wells, Jr. along with many nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companion Buck.

Larry was pre-deceased by his father and mother, step-father Charles Cook, sister Beverly Kucerak, brother-in-law Steve Kucerak, sister-in-law Brenda Hatch, father and mother-in-law Romaine and Florence Wells, and his nieces Cristi Downes Lane and Cathy Downes.

Funeral arrangements are to be determined and will be held at Church of the Nativity in Timonium, MD. A graveside service will be held next summer in Frankfort, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Church of the Nativity in Larry's memory.
