Uncle Woody- family by marriage-was truly family in every sense that mattered. He was a kind, caring man whose presence you could always count on. If there was a family gathering, he was there.
Family meant everything to him. He made time for his family. Mom and dad loved his visits. One of my favorite memories was mom´s surprise birthday cookouts for him at his house. Mom said she wanted uncle woody to know how much he meant to all of us and how much he was loved. She looked forward to having him at the holidays. It was always don´t forget to invite uncle woody.
Even as his family grew and his time became more in demand, Uncle Woody never stopped showing up for the people he loved. He was the kind of person who would give you his coat if he thought you needed it more.
He was someone you could sit and talk with for hours. And when it came time to say goodbye, it was always the same-never just a wave or a quick goodbye, but a warm hug and a sincere, "Love you, too."
Uncle Woody made this world a better place just by being in it. His kindness, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely will be remembered always-and missed forever.
