Mr. Leopoldo N. "Leo Sonny" Ferraro

UTICA – Leopoldo N. "Leo" "Sonny" Ferraro, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, with his family by his side. Born on March 27, 1935, Leopoldo was the son of the late Frank and Antoinette Ferraro. He was raised and educated in Utica, joined the Army and then went on to work at General Electric. He was united in marriage with Frieda M. Ferraro for 66 years until her passing. From that union came the blessing of their two daughters, Debbie, and Lori. Leo was a proud and dedicated husband, dad, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed fishing at Lake Moraine, playing pool, going to the casino, and trips with family. Leo is survived by his two grandsons, Sean Finnerty (Courtney), and Raymond Guarno; great-grandchildren, Marianna Arrigo, who he shared a special bond with, Nicholas Arrigo (Mia Donlon), Jacob Dongsavanh, and Michael Guarno; brother, Frank "Chic" Ferraro; and sister and brother-in-law, Rachel Canarelli (Pat). He is also survived by Maria Arrigo-Sequin (Chris), who took care of him in the weeks before his passing, and Isabella, who he looked at as his granddaughter. He was predeceased by his wife, Frieda Ferraro; and two daughters, Deborah Ferraro-Crouse, and Lori Ferraro. His family will cherish all of the memories they shared together, Disney, Myrtle Beach, fishing, and every holiday spent together. Leo loved his family and will be missed deeply by everyone around him. A Memorial Gathering in Leo's honor will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. This tribute of Leo's life was lovingly written by his family.
